Shining the Spotlight on Sade Vialva

Sade Vialva is a senior at Apopka High and is captain of our school dance team, Blue Fusion. Although being captain can take a lot of energy and time, it is an enjoyment of hers. She didn’t think she could do it, but she’s doing great and is happy and very pleased on how the team turned out. She does claim it can be stressful when you are captain of a team and a senior. After practice she may want to nap or take a break, but remembers she has homework or stressing out about what she has to do next. She also has her mom pushing her to do her best and making sure she is asking guidance counselors for scholarships she is eligible for. You also can’t forget applying for colleges because of the upcoming deadlines. Through all of this, she is still able to thrive through high school and be the best she can be. Sade plans to attend college at FAU due to their theater and dance program. Sade is motivated by the career she wishes to pursue, the vision of becoming a singer, dancer and actress encourages her to keep going because she can’t just sit and do nothing. She has to work hard because nothing is handed over. Putting all the stress and school aside Sade loves to hang out with friends and do quirky things. She also still dances in her free time too.

Who is your hero? Why?

My hero is my mom. She has shown me that no matter what you should continue to work hard. She’s beat every obstacle that has come her way and she has been through some stuff and she is the strongest woman I know and I inspire to be just as strong as her. She had to raise me and my brother on her own and she got through all of it and we turned out amazing and I’m so thankful for her.

What is it that you like about dancing the most?

I love dancing because I can be myself, you know? I can be this fierce and energetic person. Dance is where I feel the most confident, when I hit the stage I go all out and it’s just me and I’m looking at the crowd and I’m like you see me, yeah.

What would you change about yourself if you could?

Nothing. I’m very proud of the woman that I have become. I’ve grown so much from middle school till now. If I was the same person I was in middle school I would change so many things but the woman I have become now, I love myself.

If you had to sum up your personality in one word what would it be? Why?

I’d say strong. I’ve been through a lot, I’ve had a lot of people try to tear me down, telling me I wasn’t capable of things. I’ve always had that in my mindset because people were saying it to me so much I believed it. I continue to show out and show out strong to show people they were wrong.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

I love family time. Being in the car on road trips with my mom and my brother. We would always sing to Disney songs, like High School Musical and my mom would just randomly pack us up and we would go on road trips on a Friday and those are some memories that I wish I could get back.
