The Blue and White had the opportunity to interview the Sophomore Class President Brock Shapiro. He is an outstanding character, not only because he is highly involved in school activities such as Key Club, Beta Club, and Best Buddies, but also because he is very personable and well-known for being everyone’s favorite person. Many peers who know Brock would describe him as a helpful, interesting person.
In getting to know the type of person he is, we learned that Brock loves people. Whenever you see him, he is always with a friend. “I like to spend time with friends…hanging out and just having a good time making memories. Some of the connections that I make are the people. I love the people, that people are some of the best people I’ve ever met. I have lots of memories with all of them and stories to tell for a lifetime,” he said.
In addition, he also has some exciting goals and aspirations. Brock is the type of person who wants to spend his lifetime traveling the world. When asked what he plans to do in the future he said, “I would like to be a cruise director. I think that’d be cool and fun, an exciting job each day.” He went on to explain, “I think it’s the people I would really like to be around, to meet new people from all over the world that come onboard and [to] do fun stuff with them.” In his free time, Brock also travels often. “When I’m not spending 9 or 10 hours at the school sometimes, I love to travel and explore and experience new fun places all around the world with my family. We’ve been to lots of interesting places, 30-plus countries! But I think my favorite place is Amsterdam, Netherlands. I think it’s my favorite due to it being so pretty, but also being a very fun, vibrant place to be in,” he said.
In being such a vibrant guy many of his friends found a multitude of silly nicknames to call him. He listed a few: “People call me BrockInator. I have lots of nicknames Brock Obama, Brock Nadir, Brocket, broccoli.” It was a pleasure for The Blue and White to interview such an astounding character.
