Beyonce Castro, Staff Writer
Hi there! I’m Beyonce Castro, a junior. I am a first-year staff writer for the Blue and White. In my free time, I enjoy weight lifting, cooking, carpentry, spending time with my goats, and watching MatPats theories. However, my current favorite hobby is carpentry. I developed this passion in Mexico when a family member taught me how to use an axe. Since then, I have been creating various wooden structures. The most recent things I’ve built out of wood are house stairs, a bench, and a yard fence. I took up this hobby while spending time with my uncle. He demonstrated to me how to measure wood, cut it, and screw/nail the wood. I am grateful for learning this skill as it has brought me closer to my uncle and enabled me to create useful items for my family. While I don’t do carpentry too often, it is a hobby I enjoy when I can.
