Anthony Summerlin is a Junior here at Apopka High School during the 2020-2021 school year. Although this school year has been unforgettable for many, it hasn’t made too much of an impact on him. He continues on with this year playing both football and video games, hoping for a better one next year.

What do you like to do in your free time (hobbies, talents, etc.)?

In my free time, I like to play sports, like football and basketball. I also play a lot of video games, like Fortnite and Madden. I also like to spend time with my family.

What extracurricular activities or sports do you participate in, and how long have you been engaging in them?

I’ve been on the Varsity football team for two years now, and I was on the basketball team for two years, as well. But I’ve been playing both sports my whole life.

What are your thoughts on a different junior year from years prior? Does this have a huge effect on if you’ll enjoy this year or not?

I didn’t really care that there were changes this year, I’m just grateful I got to go to school and play football. It didn’t really affect my year in general, and I didn’t let it get to me too much.

Is there anything you’re looking forward to after Covid?

The only thing I’m looking forward to is having a regular football season. Not having the student section and the crowd cheering for us was kinda weird.

What are your plans after high school?

Hopefully, get a scholarship to play football and major in business. I don’t really have a job in mind, but you can never go wrong with business. Besides that, I want to enjoy my life in general. Hopefully, move out and start my own life as an adult.
